Disrupting the environment: July - August 2022
This series of drawings and ephemeral sculptures looks at the effects of climate change.
In particular the unknowns of how CO2 captures and disperses through the atmosphere. In this work, CO2 penetrates the fabric vessels. Ecology plays into my world of the mystic, through this dichotomy I investigate the escaping of CO2. Where is it going? How does it penetrate these walls of living matter, what is on the other side? Like a school of fish swimming against the current, the raising of sea temperature has interfered with their senses, some fish have and will continue to reduce in size while others will grow much larger. The school creates a beautiful scene as they delve into the depths and shallows of their ocean. I think of the fish as the imaginative world of CO2 making the invisible visible.
