C Y Twombly: By The Ioniansea 1988. Bronze string fabric white paint. I took this picture at the Broad LA. I was so excited to see this series of sculptures have a mesmerising disposition.

By The ioniansea 1988 has a sense of archaic history, a relic from a ships instruments. What interest me is the materiality bronze white paint left randomly like its unfinished. the sculpture posses a quality of the artist hand his finger prints are all over this work it is unmistakable in the grounding how it talks to you it is just not siting there it has presence and like i said Twombly’s finger prints his making resonate. My work is searching to find this same materiality of the artist hand.
